How to get there
There are many flights from London airports – with
BA,
Meridiana,
Ryanair,
Easyjet and
Alitalia
to Cagliari and Alghero. We do not recommend Olbia, as it is the furthest
away from the house with a longer drive to the south west.
Cagliari Airport is 90 km from Casa Dolce Vista. From here, follow route
130 to Iglesias, then 125 to Carbonia, Sant’ Antioco and Calasetta.
On the causeway to Sant’Antioco, make sure you stop to enjoy the view
over the town and look out for flamingoes and storks. Before entering Calasetta
follow the sign to 'PORTO' (harbour), where you will be met and escorted
to the house.
From Alghero Airport it is about 300 kms to Casa Dolce Vista. From here,
follow the signpost to Sassari and join route 131 to Cagliari. At Monastir
turn off towards Decimomannu to join route 30 to Iglesias. On the way, you
will drive through the artistic village of San Sperate, and see many orange
and lemon trees. After Iglesias, take the 125 to Carbonia and Sant’
Antioco as above.
Driving down from Alghero airport we normally stop at “Da Egisto”,
a charming restaurant on the road after Uras (long orange building with
a white tent ) It serves a great antipasti buffet but is closed on Tuesdays.
If you prefer not to fly, you can get ferries from Genoa and Livorno to
Porto Torres, Cagliari and Olbia if you have the time and want a real 'on
the road' adventure.
Whichever route you take, please plan to arrive in daylight as it will be
easier to recognize the route to the house among the country paths.
